Picture this: you’re at a job site. You’ve run out of sample containers. You’ve already dropped samples off at the lab—but you realize last minute that additional analyses are needed.
Now you’re wondering: do you have to resample? Our answer: maybe not!
There may be enough sample volume within a single container to test for several different parameters. For example, analytical testing that supports the characterization of excavated soil for transportation to receiving facilities (or to assist with hazardous waste determination) typically needs to be tested for several different parameters that can be from a single sample for analysis.
This not only simplifies sample collection efforts, but also saves you time and reduces waste!

A Reminder About Testing Criteria
Each receiving facility’s testing criteria may vary slightly. Contact your facility prior to collecting samples to ensure you meet their specific requirements.
Additional sample volume may be needed should the total concentration of any Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) regulated contaminant be greater than or equal to twenty times its regulatory threshold, and TCLP analysis is required.
Eastern Analytical, Inc. provides analytical testing that supports the characterization of excavated soil for transportation to receiving facilities or to assist with hazardous waste determination. We offer total and TCLP analyses and rush turnaround times can usually be accommodated with advanced notice!
