A harsh winter chill has officially hit New England, bringing freezing temperatures that could spell trouble for your samples.
To ensure your samples stay compliant, they must maintain a thermal preservation of ≤ 6°C—a challenge during cold-weather shipments or whenever samples are exposed to the elements.
In the face of extreme temperatures, even insulated coolers can fall short of protecting your samples. To mitigate the risk of container breakage, costly resampling, and potential compliance issues, handle your samples with care this season!
Take extra precautions this winter by:
- Placing samples in an insulated cooler filled with loose ice and keep indoors until transported to the laboratory.
- If an outdoor receptacle or location is used for a courier pick-up point, please collect sample(s) as close to the expected pick-up time as possible.
- Refrigerating samples (in a dedicated refrigerator) until they are transported to the laboratory. The refrigerator in our vestibule is open 24/7!
- Do not leave coolers containing samples in a vehicle for extended periods of time or overnight.
- Using additional bubble pack/packing material when shipping samples.
