Fecal Coliform Analysis Update
Analyze samples with the EPA’s newly approved procedure.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved the use of IDEXX Colilert-18 for detection and enumeration of fecal coliforms in wastewater samples as an Alternate Test Procedure for Fecal Coliform analysis at seacoast facilities.
At Eastern Analytical, Inc. (EAI), we will analyze Fecal Coliform samples following this newly approved method as soon as your permit allows. If preferred, please send permit information directly to EAI.

The Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR5)
EAI’s lab will upload your results directly to the EPA.
The Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR5) requires a large and selected number of small Public Water Systems to analyze drinking water samples for 30 chemical contaminants between 2023 and December 2025. Systems will collect and analyze samples for 29 per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and lithium during a 12-month period from January 2023 through December 2025.
