Congratulations Mike!

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the upcoming retirement of our dear friend and long-time colleague, Mike Serard, from Eastern Analytical, Inc. (EAI).

Mike was hired in 1981 as EAI’s very first employee! He has worked in nearly every department of the company over the years—always rolling up his sleeves to take on any task. As Technical Support Manager, he has been the go-to guy for customers and colleagues for pre-project planning, State and Federal environmental regulatory requirements, training (including our annual Nuts & Bolts seminars), and countless R&D projects.

We will miss Mike’s stories, sense of humor, smile and laughter (and the smell of popcorn in the afternoons!). We’ll especially miss his calm demeanor during the lab’s busiest seasons and his expertise in working through tough problems. Mike’s work ethic is unmatched—and we appreciate all that he has done to contribute to the company’s success through good and challenging times.

A New Chapter Awaits

After an incredible 4 decades with EAI, Mike’s last working day with us will be Friday, May 27th! He is looking forward to traveling and spending time with his family during his retirement—and especially eager to start his most rewarding role to date: operating “Grandpa Daycare” for his grandchildren.

We’ll miss you, Mike—and wish you good health and happiness in your retirement!
